Nollywood Narratives and the Non Representation

The campaign for the empowerment of young girls in society is making waves across the globe. Developing societies like Nigeria and other African countries are still lagging behind in the girl-child empowerment. Though the United Nations and other concerned institutions are making efforts to empower young girls of our time, however, most efforts here are not directed in the right direction and the most suitable media to reach the girls are not properly utilized. This book attempts to draw attention of concerned bodies to the most viable medium to reach young girls with the message of hope. Film/Movie/Cinema are strategic medium to easily reach them and spread the message of true success to aspiring girls in Nigeria. There have been distinguished Nigerian women, past and present, who have traversed many fields and made it on their own strength and intelligence, these generation of young girls will be much better when they start seeing biopics of notable women. The research work encourages indigenous film makers to produce biopics of successful women.
